It’s the last Summer Bank Holiday of 2012 tomorrow, and the Food Fair is in the Park.
We’ve had a magical year with the London Olympics 2012 and now the Paralympics begin in a few days. Our Bradley Wiggins won the Tour De France, Mo Farah ran an awsome race and has twins now as well! All the UK Athletes with or without medals were inspiring and this time we didn’t have to stay awake all night to watch the Olympians do their thing!
The Tour of Britain cycle race is the next exciting event in September and a part of the race is through Wollaton and Wollaton Park! Such lucky people – men who cycle mountains – real mega Mountains coasting through our space! (Hope they are careful of the Deer!)
It’s also still the Diamond Jubilee year, remember all that: the Royal visit was a lovely, lots of people turned out for the lighting of the Beacon in the park and then Splendour Festie was a sunshiny happy day. Carnival and the other summer events have been fun, thanks to the City Council their workers and other event managers…this Nottingham of ours is really quite cool.
Aren’t we Proud to be in the UK!! sadly it’s rained cats and dogs almost all the way from the drought ridden Spring!! The nights are drawing in, lets hope Autumn is an ‘Indian Summer’
If you have been studying hard or working, or both, lets hope the effort and results bring lucky days.
Wolly Park and Parks and Leisure spaces, Music Festies and Sporty places, all over the land, even the Riviera in the Old Market Square are part of awsome Blighty Britain. All we need now is a few crazy daft pub events to make us laugh, some secure well paying employers to turn up and bring the world back to what it was in the late 60’s, 70’s when Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon (RIP).
Just in case it’s not sunshining tomorrow or even if it is chill out and have a look at this website link.
Visit Britain have given their OK for their ‘Love the UK Wall’ to be posted here, you can vote for favourite pics and places and make suggestions of additions.
Have a good Bank Holiday, working or chilling…The School term starts soon and before we know it, it’ll be Goose Fair!!
Roll on the Tour of Britain, don’t forget to book a days holiday! Have Fun.
